"So I'm thinking," Charlie said as he entered the kitchen, "that maybe if I try the second approach..." He trailed off, squinting at Colby. "What are you making?"
Colby was silent for a moment, concentrating as he measured out a half cup of milk to pour into the mixing bowl in front of him. "It's for Megan. She's back on Tuesday."
Charlie laughed. "So you're making her... a cake? Hey." He sidled closer, plastering himself against Colby's back, and asked in a low voice, "Should I be jealous?"
"Why would you be jealous?" Colby muttered, shifting slightly towards him. He frowned at the recipe in front of him, idly mixing the batter with one hand. "I'm going to let you lick the beater."
Charlie paused for a moment and then chuckled, grinding his hips closer. He leaned up to bite at Colby's ear lightly. "Is that a euphemism, Agent Granger?"
