emmademarais. Title from Mad Mission by Patty Griffin. Part one of Mad Mission series.
Disclaimer: I don't own this character, nor do I profit from her use here. This is only for fun.
She hasn't really done this before, but she knows--she sort of knows what to do. She's nervous, heart pounding and adrenaline rushing, and she worries for a second that she'll fall in these mile-high heels, twist her ankle and tumble to the floor and be found in her tiny little skirt and what would her mother say, Lord.
She breathes in, trying to erase her second (third, fourth) thoughts. The man at the front desk barely spares her a second leer when she gives her fake name, turning back to his magazine as she walks to the elevator.
