She feels the heat in her face, but she can't move, frozen in place under Megan's gaze. She's said too much, shouldn't have said anything, but it's too late and Megan's moving even closer, until she's sitting up on her knees next to her and ohgodohgod she still can't move.

Megan leans in, breath warm and unexpected against Amita's cheek, and whispers, "What do you want, Amita? You want it to be me?" but it's only barely a question, a shot of confidence teasing through her voice. Amita shivers, nods.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, yes," she says, and Megan finally touches her.

OK, I rarely say this because it's rarely true, but that is a perfect fic. I mean, drabbles tend to show instances of greater stories, or condense detail to a pinpoint, but this piece is so complete. I truly love it. Excellent job.
