Title: Again
Pairing: David/Colby/Megan
Rating: R
Summary: If anything, Colby's the jumpy one.
Word Count: 200
Spoilers: None.
Notes/Warnings: So, erm. This is a sequel to a fic that I haven't actually finished yet, but I think this is perfectly understandable without the backstory. Unbetaed.
Prompt: #51 Shift at [livejournal.com profile] numb3rs100
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters, nor do I profit from their use here. This is only for fun.

The next day when Megan comes into work, David meets her eyes and sees her blush. She doesn't look away, though, just gives him a secret smile and heads to her desk while he watches her.

If anything, Colby's the jumpy one. David thinks about last night, about the taste of the delicate skin at the top of his thigh, and he understands. In some ways, Colby really is as white-bread as he appears. Getting his dick sucked by another man was probably a new experience for him.

He waits him out, until they're in the car driving to an arrest. He watches Colby from the passenger seat, and Colby feels his eyes on him and glances over, stiffening.

"What?" he asks.

"It doesn't have to happen again," David says, trying for gentle. Colby is silent. "I mean, we were all pretty wasted, right? One time deal."

Colby swallows, nods, and keeps his eyes on the road.

"So we're cool, right?"

"Right," Colby says. He clears his throat. "Totally fine. Nothing ever happened."

David settles back into his seat, and the car speeds up another few miles per hour.

The next time it happens, none of them are drunk.

you are a crule woman to give up the aftermath without the smut. I demand smut!

Haha, well HOPEFULLY eventually I will finish up the smutty part! But that's so much harder to write.

Gah! Woman, can I just crawl inside your brain for a while? I need a break and you always have such interesting stuff in there - like this little snap out of the blue. You're one of the few N3 authors I can rely on to come up with stuff I wouldn't have. (That's saying something given how many pairings I've written.)

So there better be prequel fic for this STAT or else I may have to BART over and picket your house for drabbles. ;-)

Is it greedy if I say more please? Don't care. More please!

*beams* Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. :-)

I have 1000+ words of the prequel written, but I haven't worked on it for a couple months, so we'll see. Maybe when my semester's over.

1000+ words? /faints/

That's more fic from you than I'd hoped for!

Dude, I just did some quick calculations of the fics in my WIP folders (not even all of them, just the ones that I think I actually want to finish/post someday) and it adds up to over 9000 words, so... Yes, I think I will have to sign up for ficfinishing again soon. Haha.

Hey, it's always there for you whether you sign up for not, but yeah I'd love to help. I get that it's hard to fic and do uni, but I adore reading your stuff so I'm greedy and want to see it come to full fruition. :-)

(that 9000+ is divided among 18 fics, btw. It ranges from 1451 to 52.)

Oh, I'm sure. I can't picture you doing a super long fic during school.

ROFL

All kinds of wrong, but if you're stuck in a city with lame mass transit? Yeah, I feel for you. Don't know what this area would be like without BART. /shudders/

auckland mass transit sucks. It's bigger than the bay area and it's impossible to get anywhere. I grew up literally a block from a BART station. the whole bay was my play ground. grrrrrrr.

From: [identity profile] emmademarais.livejournal.com
Hmm... I rather imagine NZ as being lots of wide open spaces and not enough people to warrant fast frequent nice mass transit, but what do I know? I've never been. (Though I've had quite a few Kiwi friends over the years.)

Here in the Bay Area? Yeah we've got masses people crammed into a tiny area so of course there's mass transit - emphasis on the masses *in* the transit not masses of transit to choose from. LOL

I used to live a very short walk from BART and now that I'm further I find I'm way too lazy to make the hike and end up taking the car more often. Bad me, but with the price of gas down? It's sadly *a lot cheaper* to drive than take BART even one stop. /grumbles/

Most of NZ is wide open spaces but Auckland has a full quarter of the entires country population in one area. It's actually a lot like the bay area in terms of population density, diversity, and relative cost of living. It even has a very bay area vibe and look in a lot of ways.

They're trying to upgrade the train and bus system but it's just laid out weird so you can get close to where you're going but not quite where you need to be. The trains were laid out 20 years ago based on projections of where the population would be but they weren't quite right. Very annoying really.

From: [identity profile] emmademarais.livejournal.com
Odd. LA's new train system is similarly annoying. One ends up taking the train to get in the area but is stuck taking a bus the rest of the way. It's arguably the hardest metro area geographically speaking to service since it doesn't just have one central downtown that's a core destination like NYC or Chicago does. There are many business cores and they're not really that close to each other. Add to that many people commute in from 3 hours away and it's a nightmare of two major train systems, more bus systems than you can count and endless traffic snafus. Ugh.

But wow for Auckland being so population dense. Impressive. Sounds cool.

it is a pretty cool city. If you're ever down I'll show you around. once upon a time LA had great public transit. I used to commute from richmond into the city. it was so nice. a quick walk to richmond bart, bart to the city, quick walk to work, repeat on the way back. so much better than trying to drive across the bay bridge. Damn I'm missing bart more and more.

I'm honestly a sucker for a good metro. I love the Paris one and the London Tube rocks. BART is great and so easy to use, but Boston's is so bloody simple a child could figure it out! LA's I've ridden plenty, but it's really slow, not frequent enough and about all I can say good for them is the orange line bus runs often and they're pretty clean and safe overall. Still, they did a good job for me - at least until they raised the prices to be prohibitive. /grumbles/

If I do wind up down under I'm sure I'll be looking up quite a few people! I miss traveling, but for now I'd be happy to just get my arse over to SF for a day in the city. (I've been craving Yerba Buena Gardens on a sunny day. /sigh/)

The last line makes me want to dance around for glee.

The rest of this makes me want to email you EVERY DAY to find out if you've finished the prequel yet.

(I won't. I just wanna.)

You might try this over at [livejournal.com profile] drabble_a_trois too, if you like.

(Also, did I mention the GLEE?)

OMG. I think you inspired a new guilty pleasure OT3. I especially love the line about Colby being as white bread as he looks. *pets the farm boy*

Great job, and I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to that prequel. Or a sequel, I'm not picky. *g*

I'm being greedy tonight (and looking through your fics *looks innocent*) I want the prequel to this, Part 2 to the one we're talking about in im aaaaand... to start working on our EPIC HS AU fic.

My favorite thing about this comment is that I just KNOW I'm going to find it again in like six months and have no idea what fic "Part 2" goes to. And then I'll have to write sequels for all my fics just to appease you! Ach.

I haven't worked on it since the last draft you saw, I think, but I promised someone upthread that I would finish it this year, and obviously I feel duty-bound to keep anonymous Internet fanfic promises, so... Maybe I'll try to finish it over my break!

Haha, I don't think that J2 fic will ever be finished. Sorry!
